Ahoy from Hooked on Tonics

Postby HookedOnTonics » June 25th, 2024, 11:26 am

Hello fello Carver Owners. The admiral and I have a new to us, 2 owner, 1997 455 Aft with 2x Merc 502s. Admiral Lisa has named her Hooked on Tonics... I call her HOT for short.

HOT has been maintained to a high standards and is provisioned with so many spares I am having to create an inventory listing with locations. Thank you to the previous owner.

In normal fashion there are items to be modified to make it our own...

1) Ability to work from anywhere... Install Starlink
Done
2) Removal of the home stereo and TV from aft deck. Replace with Fusion MS-RA770 and 12v TV

Done
3) Remove home stereo and tube tv from Salon. Replace with cabinet doors for additional storage.
Does anyone have a source to make matching cabinet doors ?!?!?
4) Removal of the trash compactor in the galley. Replace with 12" base cabinet.
Does anyone have a source to make matching cabinet doors ?!?!?
5) Adjust main sliding door as it is rubbing the frame on top
Does anyone have history in adjusting or is there adjustment to this. I believe the track is worn and needs to be replace... ???

Thank you an advance for any and all advice.

Welcome aboard!!

On your "main sliding door track" question... several folks have found that just getting them apart and cleaning them well made a huge improvement. Adding some dry-lube helps too, but not if it's still got crud built up in there. There are a few threads on this but not sure the exact same model is covered, but you might get good ideas just perusing those.
