3297 1988 Transmission acess

Postby Yoeman » May 10th, 2025, 9:51 am

How can I get access to the v drives
I can’t even reach the oil dip stick
Does this model have any panels to remove to service the transmission
Crawling behind the twin crusaders is not my best option

Can't speak for 3297, but 3697 one hatch has the dinette table on it. Lift off the table from the poles and use the poles as leverage to open the hatch which swings toward the middle of the boat. The port side has a floor cover you can lift up. Both are right over the v drive.
Thanks

I’m thinking it must be the same
Back to the boat tomorrow
Water heater won’t come out so may try lifting the complete stern cover
Ice maker leaks at valve so will find that issue
Sliding doors and screen slide poorly
Ugly stripes need to come off!
Big day
Thanks

Nothing under the table
I can’t even see the dip stick to check the fluid level

I don't think it's as far forward as the table. Look in the bottom of the aft dinette bench and see if there is an access hatch.

I would love to chat with a 3297 owner that can tell me if lifting the entire hatch frame is the only way to have better access to the back of the crusaders and v drives.
I dropped the oil filter today and it was tough to get it out from under the under v drive.
Any ideas
