1997 Carver 500 tankage

Postby Boatnut » March 12th, 2026, 11:54 pm

Hi all, considering buying a 1997 Carver 500 with the Cummins 8.3's... Hope you can give me some advice? What material are the fuel and water tanks in this model? With 1000hrs, (1000hr service done) along with after coolers serviced, what should I be concerned with? Had numerous boats, just never a Carver. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for that info. So the water tanks are a non issue, the fuel tanks are head and shoulders above the "black steel" in the other boat I'm considering. Still not fibreglass but probably a non issue is my thought.
