Need to replace shaft seal

Postby PGMKGT » July 24th, 2025, 11:16 am

Hello!

I have a 1986 Carver Riviera that needs its shaft seal assembly replaced. Anyone ever have to do this repair and successfully find parts that work? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome aboard. Where is she docked? A good prop shop should be able to supply the parts, so should marinas and marine retailers. Why do you need to replace the whole assembly?

I'm wondering what the actual issue is too. That hose can be replaced if it's an issue, as well as the packing. The rest of the parts seem to last forever unless someone's been chewing them up using pipe wrenches.
