Does anyone know where to buy plumbing parts (elbows, supply lines) for a 1997 Carver 455? The local plumbing supply has no idea!

View the latest post What's a micro adjust?

Good Morning All,
When I looked at the boat on Monday, I found a little device that said microadjust. It was just in front of the steering wheel. Any ideas what the could be for? It had 3 or 4 lights and a little switch.
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Rear view camera

Good Morning All,
Has anybody mounted a rear view camera in the cockpit area? I was just curious. It seems like a good idea. You could watch the fishing poles and when you back into the slip, it may assist in your vision there.
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Fish locators

Good Morning All,
My Carver only has bridge controls for driving, not complaining. Obviously I will be mounting my Humminbird 898 Side Imaging locator at this location. My question is that am sure that there will be people watching the poles in the cockpit and they would like a radar too :-P

What would everyone suggest? If I get another 898, one is that it will be super expensive but also I think it only goes to one or the other when sharing transducers. So does that lead me to getting just a cheaper locator that has a transducer off the stern? Thoughts?

Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Attachment(s) Downrigger and pole holders Mounting

Good Morning All,
So on my Carver I have a wrap around railing in the cockpit area. I will be fishing and diving with this boat. I can't wait! Anyhoo, has anybody mounted Downriggers and fishing poles on those boats? What do you suggest for it? Any pics? I have a bad felling I will have to pull the railing off the cockpit.
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Engine hatches are concave

Good Morning All,
So the engine hatches can support my weight with now problems, however they are concave, by maybe 3/4" dip in the middle. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Can I just rip the wood off it from below and then replace it with new wood to straighten it?
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Repair the thing that the anchor hangs off of

Good Morning All,
Ok, am I annoying yet :-D so first of all, what is the term for the thing that the anchor hangs off of in the front of the boat? It looks like somebody already tried to rig what was there and rotting. I have no idea what they tried to do, but it looks like they threw paint over rotted wood, which I was hoping was fiberglass. It seems rather weak.
To repair it, I am assuming I will need to pull it out and make it new again. Is this thing kind of leveraged from below the deck in the front? Any suggestions on rebuilding this?
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Water fill and pump out

Good Morning All,
So I know there is a gas tank full on the stern that definitely goes to the gas tank. I seen another fill to the port side. Would that be the water fill? Is the holding tank pump out location on the starboard side? How does that work? Do I have a pump on board that pumps it out or does the dump site have a sucking pump? It almost looks like the whole holding tanks is under the toilet. Where does the shower water go then? Is there another tank for that? Does anything get pumped out of the boat to the lake? I just don't want to accidentally do something dumb :banghead:
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Any ideas where the access is to the tanks

Good Morning All,
So I briefly looked for the hatch to the tanks and the box that lets you mount a transducer. I cannot find as of yet. The kitchen floor has some nasty tile in it. If I need to, I can create a hatch but would like to find where they have it. It is a Carver Mariner 33', 77'.
Thanks,
Steve

View the latest post Compass is leaking

Good Morning All,
I noticed the compass is leaking. Can I refill it with mineral oil? Of course I would need to find the leak. It is a rather nice looking compass or I would not care.
Thanks,
Steve
