Well we finally got our second Carver with more switches than you can shake a stick at.. ....how does everyone leave their boat?......what do you select for battery switch at back panel ,( one ,two or both )and what do you leave on , on the front main panel? Thats a start, there is a bit of a learning curve here.Thanks

A couple of weeks ago I closed the deal on a 1983 Riviera that is in wonderful shape. She is a solid and dry boat. Last weekend we made the 4 hour trip home through the Thousand Islands with her. This week we have been outfitting her with the appropriate safety gear, comforts, and doing minor maintenance and cleaning. One engine was running rich, so I just rebuilt the carb and will be reinstalling it Saturday. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and tossing the odd question out when I'm stumped or need some sage advice.

I am a new member, having purchased a '96 Carver 355 Aft Cabin 3 weeks ago (recently retired after 35 years of chest and cardiac surgery). I'm new to "Big Boating", my only prior experience being a 13' Whaler with a 40 Hp Evenrude.
Learning to drive this thing has been a challenge...
That said, I'm loving the entire experience.

One issue has come up regarding the fuel tanks on my boat. In the buying process, the fuel was turned off to both engines. I topped off both tanks and thought I'd repositioned the fuel valves so that the port engine would be taking fuel from the port tank and so forth for the starboard engine. Now after a couple trips, seems I'm feeding both engines off the starboard tank (starboard at 1/2, port full). Then there's the issue of the "aux" tank, which I know nothing about...
So, how do I set the fuel valves? Do I need to fill the aux tank separately?
What am I missing?

My thermostat does not properly register the correct emp. It pretty much never shows below 115, therefore the air never shuts off. can I replace it with a digital from Home Depot?

Hello, I am considering buying a used 1988 Carver Montego 2757 for my family of four, and am going to look at it tomorrow. So, before I become part of the Carver family, I was wondering if anyone had some advice and/or tips for me? Are there any common potential issues I should look for on this boat?
